Fast Track: A Data-Driven Onboarding Tool
Fast Track is a data-driven tool designed to measure how effectively new employees integrate into your organization. Rather than simply tracking process completion, it focuses on whether new hires feel connected, secure, and ready to contribute to the organization.
The tool consists of 25 research-based questions answered by employees, generating an index score (0-100) supplemented by insights across six key dimensions that define a successful onboarding experience. This index helps you assess how quickly new employees become fully onboarded.
Fast Track provides actionable insights into your onboarding process—highlighting where new hires thrive and where they may struggle. This allows you to target improvements, enhance engagement, well-being, and retention.
The Onboarding Model
The onboarding model offers a holistic understanding of what it takes for new employees to succeed—professionally, socially, and organizationally. It consists of six dimensions, each addressing critical learning and adaptation tasks in a new role. Widely used in Danish organizations, this model helps design, measure, and strengthen onboarding processes.
1. Culture
This dimension focuses on understanding and adapting to the organization’s values, norms, and tone. New employees need insight into the company’s history, strategy, and "how things are done"—both formally and informally. A strong cultural fit fosters confidence and initiative.
2. Rules
This covers understanding the structures, policies, and frameworks governing work. Clarity on roles, responsibilities, and decision-making processes reduces uncertainty and builds confidence in task execution.
3. Network
Networking is about building relationships and accessing knowledge. New hires should connect with immediate colleagues and know who to reach out to across the organization. A strong network accelerates learning, reduces errors, and enhances belonging.
4. Collaboration
This dimension addresses practical teamwork—meeting culture, communication, and shared responsibility. It helps new employees understand team dynamics and their role within them, while also fostering cross-departmental collaboration.
5. Competencies
This focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the role, from learning jargon to adapting existing skills to new contexts. Effective onboarding ensures continuous learning during the initial phase.
6. Results
Finally, onboarding is about creating value
